All about life

Two of Forbes’ churches will combine this weekend when they hold a festival in Victoria Park.

The event is being run in conjunction with the Jesus All about Life campaign which has been using a high visibility media campaign to increase interest in Jesus and his message.

The campaign is designed to connect with the community and encourages people to seek out further information.

This Sunday Forbes’ Anglican and Uniting Churches combine for the festival which will take place in Victoria Park.

“Right across NSW the Jesus all about Life campaign is giving people the opportunity to see that Christ is not about religion but about a personal relationship with Jesus,” said the Reverend Sister Lyn Bullard of St John’s Anglican Church.

“So whilst corporate worship is a vital part of the life of any Christian our relationship and understanding of who Jesus is the x-factor to understanding Christianity,” she said.

Rev. Sister Bullard said the campaign will see churches in many towns combine for similar events.

She said this would give people the opportunity to find out more about Jesus and how he remains relevant.

The festival will see the preaching broken up into five three minute sections and will provide an overview or introduction for those who do not attend church every week.

There will also be live music, drama, a children’s dancing presentation, Christian book stall and poets corner.

Following its completion at around midday there will also be a free barbecue lunch for those in attendance.

There is no cost for the event and Rev. Sister Bullard said there will be the opportunity for anyone interested to have a one-on-one conversion with festival organisers.

The event gets underway in Victoria Park this Sunday from 10am.
