Dreaming centre to open

02 Jul, 2009 10:29 AM
The opening of the Wiradjuri Dreaming Information Centre on Lake Forbes proposed for Saturday, July 4, has been pushed back to Saturday, July 18.

As spokesperson for the Lachlan Aboriginal Natural Resource Management Group said the opening has been postponed due to recent rain.

She said the rain had delayed school students from being able to complete their painting which forms part of the artwork at the centre.

The opening of the Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre will be held in conjunction with the unveiling of the Bundaburra Jack artwork purchased by the Council and the launch of a cookbook developed by the Greater Western Area Health Service with Aboriginal women.

National Aboriginal Islander Day Of Celebrations (NAIDOC) week will begin on Monday, July 6, and will continue as planned.
