Two of the region’s biggest employers have given their support to the Kalari-Lachlan River Arts Festival, to be held in Forbes in early September.

Northparkes Mines and Barrick Cowal this week announced their support of the festival, which will be held on the shores of Lake Forbes on September 3 and 4.

Northparkes Mines has become one of the festival’s major supporters, with the company’s specialist for community and external relations, Andrew Garratt, presenting a $15,000 cheque to festival coordinator, Merrill Findlay, on Tuesday.

Barrick Cowal’s community relations manager, Richard Savage, also announced festival support of $5000 on Tuesday.

The Kalari-Lachlan River Arts Festival has already drawn support from the Sydney Theatre Company and Melbourne philanthropy society, Annamila P/L, and the in-kind support of Forbes Shire Council, Landcare, the Lachlan Catchment Management Authority and a host of other organisations.
