A team from Temora has collected the major trophy at this year’s Super 8s cricket carnival, held last Saturday.
The visiting team went through the carnival undefeated to qualify for the A-grade final, against Forbes side, the PCL’s.
Temora won the match by 30 runs with the PCLs unable to chase down their first innings total.
The B-grade final was also contested by two previously undefeated teams, with Rob’s Last Chance emerging victorious from the Firies.
Forbes District Cricket Association president Andrew Glasson said the carnival was a success, despite the late withdrawal of defending A-grade champions, the Scott Mullers.
“It went really well,” Glasson said of the carnival.
“We lost a team on the Friday night so we had to do a bit of shuffling of the draw at the last minute, but it probably helped on the day,” Glasson said.
The local cricket president said conditions were ideal for cricket on Saturday with mild temperatures and little evidence of the previous week’s heavy rain.
