Red Bend Catholic College's under 15s girls soccer team progressed through to the Western Final of the Bill Turner trophy recently with a great win over Delroy High School from Dubbo.

In a great display of attacking soccer the college girls defeated Delroy 10-0 after being in well in front, 7-0, at half time.
Goal scorers were Kimeaka Evans (in the 6th, 20th and 25th minutes), Claire Barber (15th minute), Beth Bernardi (16th, 41st and 48 minutes), Abbey Gillogly (22nd minute) Lucy Kearney (27th minute) and there was an own goal (39th minute).
The Bill Turner trophy is a school soccer competition for girls aged 15 and under.
Each year, nearly 400 schools from NSW, Queensland, ACT and Victoria compete in this knockout contest.
With their recent win Red Bend now move into the final 32 with their next game against James Sheahan (Orange) in the first week of term three.
The College team is Abbey Gillogly, Amelia Davis, Amy Draper, Beth Bernardi, Claire Barber, Claire Bignell, Erin Dwyer, Illie Hewitt, Joe-Dean O’Brien, Kimeaka Evans, Lucy Kearney, Nicky Davies, Paige Gaffey, Paige Hay and Milly Somes.
College officials paid thanks to referee, Tim Maitland (Forbes Referees Association) and Cameron Stone (Parkes Soccer) his help in organising the game.
In earlier games Red Bend defeated St Raphaels Cowra 6-4 in a great game.
Goal scorers for Red Bend were Kimeaka Evans (2), Beth Bernardi, Erin Dwyer (2) and Claire Barber.
Their second game was against St Johns Dubbo.
After a tight first 15 minutes Red Bend opened the scoring through Kimeaka Evans, after some great team work by Abbey Gillogly and Beth Bernardi.
Shortly after, Beth combined with Erin Dwyer, for Kimeaka to score her second. St Johns started strongly in the second half with some promising attacks on goal.
Red Bend scored their third goal through Paige Hay.
Credit must go to the defence with goal keeper Amy Draper, guiding the backs, including Joe-Dean O’Brien, Amelia Davis, Lucy Kearney, Claire Bignell and Claire Barber, around shutting down the opposition’s attack.
