Calling on youngsters to have a run

The Magpies under 16s side is looking strong before this year’s competition has even kicked off.

The side’s coach, Cameron Greenhalgh said he spent time this Summer training with three of the under 16s players – Hayden Bolam, Haige Carlisle and Cameron’s son, Nick Greenhalgh.

“A couple of fellahs wanted to train before going to the Canberra Raiders’ country camp in early January,” Greenhalgh said.

He said with those young players having had the training and experience in the summer camp, the prospects for the side look even brighter.

“Right across the board, this year we’ll be very competitive,” Greenhalgh said.

Other junior Magpies teams have new coaches, who share Greenhalgh’s enthusiasm for junior league.
