As the $7.50 outsider in the Newhaven Park Trophy Open Handicap (1200m) at Boorowa, Cool Force ridden by Gulgong based Alan Barton, prevailed in a close finish over Marostica (Dani Walker, $5.00) and Tap the Bar (Rebeka Prest, $2.00 fav).
The following day the Peter Kirby trained Double Dissolution ridden by Forbes apprentice Catherine Markwort, won the 1400m Maiden Plate.
After racing in fifth position to the home turn, Double Dissolution ($9.00) in an exciting finish won by a neck from Jokey Josephine (Daniel Pitomac, $10.00) with Dancing Magic (Kody Nestor, $7.00) a head away third.
Another Forbes trainer enjoying success was Dennis Bush at Binnaway on Saturday with his eight-year-old gelding Beer Gut.
One of five winners on the day for top jockey Greg Ryan, Beer Gut ($4.20, $3.60) came from well back to beat Super Vixen (Glenn Lynch, $8.00, $7.00) by a half-head with Rapid Interference (Kody Nestor, $6.00) finishing third.
Following his five win haul at Binnaway on Saturday, Greg Ryan had a winner at Mudgee on Sunday and another four winners at Quirindi on Monday.
