While final acceptances will be declared this morning, the fields are expected to be very good with more than 70 nominations received at close of business on Tuesday.
Advocate racing scribe Colin Hodges said local trainers always enjoy a “home game” and Forbes stables will be well represented.
Dennis Bush nominated Sacred Words, Tipsy Tina, Hotski, He’s Trumps and Crazyforchristmas while Peter Kirby’s nominations are Necessary Evil, Tribali, Double Dissolution and Outback Wander.
Barry Molloy has Set for Gold nominated while the entries from Bill Hayes are Ratbag and Dominico.
The five-race meet is set to be a fantastic day for all race goers and will include the popular Fashions on the Field with four categories and $1500 worth of prizes on offer.
Forbes Spring Races committee member Carmen Duffy said everyone was encouraged to dress-up and take part.
The categories are Best Dressed Lady (16 to 35 years), Most Stylist Lady (35 years and over), Best Dressed Gent (Open) and new this year is the Best Dressed Junior (Under 16)
“It is going to be a great day and with some great prizes up for grabs, come dressed in your finest,” Mrs Duffy said.
Mrs Duffy said this year people were invited to take their own marquees or pop-up tents and set them up trackside.
“You can also bring a picnic hamper and enjoy the day out with the family,” she said.
“There will also be a free jumping castle for the kids to enjoy.
“The weather is predicted to be perfect and the track is looking great, so come along for a brilliant day of racing and family fun.”
Gates open at 11am and admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners. Children under 12 are free.
More about the Forbes Spring Races and fields will be published in Saturday’s Advocate.
