Shaun Read, co-organiser of the rodeo committee said that the support from the council has helped the upcoming event immensely and the wider local sponsorship has been outstanding.
“They (Forbes Shire Council) have really kicked it off and given it a head start,” he said.
“We’ve had lots of support and already have 20 major sponsors and six minor sponsors but we still have places for more,” he said.
In recent weeks the rodeo has started to take shape with more entertainment including jumping castles and Big Al the comedy clown being secured.
The event will start at midday and will go into the night, with the gates planned to close at 9.30pm.
Mr Read said that that he has felt a great response from the community about the upcoming event.
“Everyone’s hyped up about it and it’s going to be a great family affair,” he said.
“Lots of our friends in the rodeo circuit that I’ve been talking too are all saying they’ll be there.
“Now all we’re looking for is volunteers for the day.”
The program for the event will be released closer to time once all the riders have registered in the week before March 1.
The rodeo committee also wanted to remind people looking to enter the local poddy and local steer events that entries will only be accepted a week before the event.
A list of all the local sponsors can be found on the Forbes Central West Livestock Exchange Rodeo Facebook page.
