With perfect weather, the markets attracted a crowd close to 700 and Secretary of the Bedgerabong Show Society Penny Carlisle said it was a pleasing turnout.
“We were very happy,” she said.
“Because it was the first one we were a bit unsure how many we would get but it was really great.
“The grounds looked beautiful and the weather was perfect.”
Around 40 stalls lined the circular grounds and market owners sold everything from brightly decorated laundry pegs to gourmet oils and salad dressings.
There was a jumping castle and face painting for the kids as well as the Dippin’ Dots ice cream van and mini pancake stall. All 100 of the chooks, ducks and turkeys were sold at the poultry auction and Ms Carlisle said they hope to host the markets again.
“We would like to make it an annual market,” she said.
“(But) we don’t want to over do it, it takes a lot of time for the volunteers and we have a limited number of volunteers.”
The date for the next Bedgerabong markets is set for April 12, 2015.
