The Forbes pair went on to face Harbord’s Mick Stuart and Dave Shearer in the grand final, but went down 24-12 as the light faded on Sunday afternoon.
Stuart and Shearer had earned their finals berth with a win over K Franklin and C Robinson from Dee Why.
Forbes’ pairs semi-final opponents Crawford Linton and Jason Brown from Belrose teamed up with Glen Ashcroft and Chris Robertson from Manly to win the fours finals.
The Crawford Linton-led team ran out winners ahead of the Keith Smith-led team from Toongabbie, also with a score of 24-12.
Other semi-final contenders in the fours competition were Jason Stelling’s team from Deey Why and Brad Langelar’s team from Dee Why.
It was all part of a great weekend of bowls at the Forbes Sports and Recreation Club.
Organiser Graham Rutherford said the weather couldn’t have been better, the greens were great and the company was also good.
The carnival, which is in its 51st year, attracted 36 pairs teams and 18 fours sides.
Entrants travelled from areas including Manly, Belrose and Dee Why, East Maitland, Toongabbie, Shellharbour, Towradgi and Asquith.
The central west was represented by sides from Gooloogong and Forbes.
