The second edition of The Sound magazine was recently launched, and while the weather forced a change of location, the launch was a success.

A free barbeque was held at Forbes High School to launch the magazine, and students also received some great free giveaways.
They also had the opportunity to have their photo taken in front of The Sound banner, which will be published in the next issue.
Forbes Shire Council’s youth liaison officer Natalie Walker said all of the issues were given out and she received a positive response from students.
“They were quite interested in it [the magazine] and what it was about,” she said.
Mrs Walker said launching the magazine in partnership with youth week was a great way to promote it and giving students the opportunity to have their picture taken for the next magazine was a good way of engaging with them.
“It was fun as well as creating a bit more awareness about the magazine,” she said.
“The magazine provides young people with additional information about issues affecting young people, for example mental health.”
This edition focuses on a number of great topics including travel; let’s talk about sex, particularly the morning after pill; healthy mind, healthy body; what’s on for Youth Week; jobs; road safety; past community events and reviews.
The Sound was also launched in Parkes and Condobolin during Youth Week 2014 celebrations.
