In its off season the track has undergone a complete resurfacing.
This work was carried out with the assistance of the Forbes Shire Council through funding with the above and Harness Racing NSW.
The recent rains have helped the track to bond but the true test will come under race conditions.
The first of six races is on at 1pm tomorrow at the showground paceway.
One of Australia’s top reinswomen, Amanda Turnbull of the well-known harness racing family, will make her personal debut at Forbes in the first race.
It has been a number of years since the Turnbull family was represented in harness racing at Forbes.
Turnbull has four scheduled drives tomorrow.
The Anzac Day meeting will feature the time-honoured Forbes RSL Sub Branch Diggers Cup as well as memorial races for Charlie Robb, Pud Woods, Neville Pellowe and Nathaniel Gallagher.
During the afternoon harness racing club officials with sub-branch members will pause to honour service men and women.
The Ode will be read and the Last Post sounded before a minute’s silence.
The club would once again like to express thanks for the wonderful support it has received from sponsors with again the Forbes Services Memorial Club being the major sponsor.
