This Forbes Art Society’s second exhibition for the year and one of five they are holding throughout 2014.
Forbes Art Society president Keith Mullette said it is a double barrelled exhibition combining the works of artists from around the central west, as well as artworks in the heritage week competition depicting structure of Forbes.
“This exhibition runs a double-barrel purpose - it allows the people of Forbes to exhibit their artwork, as well as allowing people to go along and have a look at it,” he said.
“We’d love people to encourage others to come and see it; it’s well worth a look.”
The Forbes Shire Council’s Heritage Art competition specifically showcases structures within Forbes and can be entered in the open drawing, open painting or open photography categories.
The structures can be something built or constructed such as a bridge, dam, silo, tower or stockyards and may be modern or a historic relic.
These structures should be significant to the past or present heritage of the Forbes Shire landscape.
There is some great prize money on offer for this competition.
The Central West Art Expo will feature artworks from various artists within the local community, as well as from around the central west.
Mr Mullette said last year there were around 30 artists who exhibited and he expects similar numbers this time.
Cost of the exhibition is $15 per person which can be paid on the night.
