Forbes Library is hosting its second round of basic computer classes for seniors, starting with an introduction to email this Thursday.
Forbes Library branch officer Bronwyn Clark and trainer Michael Horth are preparing for the three hour class, which is designed to suit seniors in the community who are just beginning to dabble in the online world.
Central West Libraries projects officer Michael Horth said the online world is not just for younger people.
“Everyone can benefit from being online and connected, no matter where they live, how old they are or where their interests lie,” Mr Horth said.
“After many years teaching it’s refreshing to be able to help older participants to learn new skills in a small and relaxed group.”
Public computers will be used for the sessions so they will be unavailable for other library users during the training session times, however free WiFi is available to those who would like to bring along their own device.
Mr Horth said he is also interested in Saturday morning and afternoon sessions if there is enough demand from locals.
If you would prefer to come to training on a Saturday please let the Forbes Library team know on 6852-1463.
Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the State Library of NSW, NSW Ageing Strategy, the Telstra Digital Inclusion Strategy and Central West Libraries.
Introduction to email will be held from 10am to 1pm this Thursday (July 24).
Phone Forbes Library on 6852-1463 for bookings to guarantee your place.
