This month marks the third anniversary of the Spectacular Screenings group, with many of the original members still involved in putting on movie nights.
The Lego Movie will be screened inside the Youth and Community Centre on Friday, July 25.
Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start with refreshments available and lucky door prizes on offer.
Cost of the movie night is $2 per person.
Spectacular Screenings is still going strong after three years of organising movie nights for the community, which Forbes Shire Council’s youth liaison officer Natalie Walker said is a credit to those involved.
“As a group they’ve contributed at least 2,000 hours in the last three years to community service,” she said.
“Not only have they held their indoor and outdoor movie nights but they’ve partnered with other community groups to offer movies such as during Children’s Week, International Women’s Week, Screen on the Green.”
There are currently 10 youth volunteers for Spectacular Screenings and they say they hope it continues to grow. The group has recently received funding from NSW Transport to help with transport costs to go to other towns to host movie screenings such as in Parkes and Condobolin.
