Konz fronted the Group 11 judiciary on Wednesday night after being cited by the Group management committee for a tackle on Nick Wilson in the Rabbitohs clash with CYMS at No.1 Oval on July 13.
Thankfully Wilson walked away from the incident uninjured and was able to play last Sunday's match against Dubbo Macquarie.
The tackle drew national media attention earlier in the week, with Daily Telegraph sports editor-in-chief Phil Rothfield critical for the lack of action taken on the day and subsequent.
Meanwhile Konz's teammate Jock Byrne has also been suspended until further notice for his involvement in the same tackle.
Byrne didn't attend the judiciary hearing and won't be allowed to play until he faces the charge.
The process to cite Konz and Byrne started late last week but reached a crescendo on Wednesday when the judiciary panel of Ray Neilsen, Tony Barlow and Peter Richardson met in Narromine to hear the case.
No grading was placed on the tackle by Group 11 however it is believed officials are upset at the length of disqualification handed out.
It is also believed the CYMS club have expressed outrage at the suspension while Westside officials are of the belief the hearing only came about because of media attention.
Westside has the bye this weekend but Konz will miss matches against Parkes, Wellington and Nyngan before being eligible to return for the side's final match of the year against Narromine on August 24.
The tackle couldn't have come at a worse time for local officials, with rugby league still reeling from the tackle that left Newcastle Knights forward Alex McKinnon in a wheelchair earlier in the year.
The timing was also ironic as last weekend the National Rugby League had its 'Rise For Alex' round, which resulted in an amazing outpouring of emotion and a significant fundraising drive for the Aberdeen product and others impacted by neck injuries.
