Mr Cobb was unable to meet with the students when they visited Parliament House as part of their Canberra excursion in June, so instead he came to them.
“If I miss them in Canberra I try to go around to their schools to catch up,” Mr Cobb said.
Mr Cobb gave a talk to the year five and six students, chatting about Canberra, the War Museum and Parliament House.
They even learnt some fun facts including the number of people who work in Parliament House each day – 4,500.
Forbes North has their own parliament with the year six students the ministers and year five students shadow ministers.
At the end of his talk Mr Cobb presented all the year six students with certificates signed by the president of the Senate as a memento of their trip.
Mr Cobb said he always enjoys talking to that age group.
“They’re good fun year five and six kids – they’re a joy to have,” he said.
“They’re young enough to still have innocence and old enough to know what’s going on. Not like year 11 and 12 who are totally ruthless - they’ll ask you things even your wife wouldn’t ask.”
