While the Platypi under 17s and 15s won’t feature in the semi-finals, the Forbes grounds will showcase the region’s top teams in under 13s, under 15s and 17s.
“Although no Forbes teams will feature in any of the matches, it is a great opportunity for the club to host the fixtures and get another opportunity to raise some much needed funds,” said Forbes Junior Rugby publicity officer Jayne Norrie.
The first match will kick off at 9.30am, when Narromine take on Dubbo Blue in the under 13s. The second game will commence at 10.30am between Orange City and Dubbo Blue (under 15s). The final match will start at 11.30am, when Mudgee take on Wellington in under 17s.
There will be plenty at stake for all the teams, with the winner of each division to qualify for their respective grand final, while the losing teams will be eliminated.
“It is a great opportunity to see some quality junior rugby played at the picturesque ground, and all spectators are welcome to come along. There will be barbecue and canteen facilities provided on the day,” Jayne said.
The Forbes club will require volunteers to run the event, so any families involved with junior rugby can contact John or Narelle on 0458-172-895 to find out how they may assist.
