Show secretary Jan Facey said all of the old favourite competitions will be making a return as well as some new sections.
The haystacking competition is expected to be a hit on Saturday afternoon with $200 prize money for first place and $100 for second place.
“We are encouraging people to nominate their team of four with entry forms available at the show office,” Jan said.
“The welding competition is also new this year and there are lots of prizes to be won.
“To find out more, pick up a show schedule from the show office or from the Advocate office.”
While the gates won’t open to the public until Friday morning, those who are entering the pavilion competitions will be busy putting their entries in on Thursday.
If you want to beat the rush, you can also collect your tickets from the show office and just drop off your items on Thursday.
This year the Royal Flying Doctor Service will have a display complete with a life-size replica of the flightdeck and fuselage of a Beechcraft KingAir aircraft complete with display medical fit out.
There will also be a free health screening for attendees to the stand.
Another new feature is the reptile display, Snake Tails, which is an interactive show featuring four of the world’s deadliest snakes with bush awareness and first aid included in the performance.
As well as the traditional show food, a range of other treats will also be available over the two days including Irish food, woodfire pizzas, mini pancakes, donuts, old style lollies and freshly brewed coffee.
The successful Bullride will once again be held on Friday starting at 5.30pm with the official opening and the announcement of the Showgirl.
This year there are three nominations for Showgirl Melissa Gaffney, Emily Pavey and Shannon Toole.
The fireworks will commence straight after the Bullride finishes on Friday night.
Forbes P A and H Association president Pip Perry says he is looking forward to another successful show.
“The grounds are in great condition and the jumping arena looks fantastic,” Mr Perry said.
“We have also put a lot of money into getting the gravel sealed in the rides area so it will be a lot better for show attendees, especially if we do get some rain.”
Membership is $35 for a family and $25 for single, which includes entry into the show for two days and off-street parking.
For non-members gate admission is $15 for adults, $8 for children and $8 for pensioners.
New memberships must be purchased by close of business on Wednesday and current memberships need to be paid by Friday.
To help show goers save money, the P A and H Association is also selling a $30 sheet of tickets for $25, which can be used on rides, showman’s food stalls and sideshow alley.
These ticket sheets can be purchased until the Thursday before the show at the show office or at Glass Menagerie.
