Hamish Neville is suffering from Neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that disturbs cell growth in the nervous system which can cause tumors to form on nerve tissue.
Hamish’s father, Duncan, works at Northparkes Mine in underground production and when his crew (A Crew) heard of Hamish’s condition, they wanted to get involved and help out.
The 19 person crew got together and have organised “A Fair Day on the Fairway for Hamish”.
It is a four person Ambrose to be held on Father’s Day Sunday, September 7, with all proceeds going to support the Neville family.
Players need to register at 9.30am for a 10am shotgun tee off.
After the golf is finished at 4pm, presentations will take place with raffles drawn and auction items up for grabs.
Cost for the golf is $30 per person with lots of prizes on offer.
Golf professional Aaron Carseldine will be travelling around the course, taking a shot for teams in need.
Non-golfers and families are encouraged to go along as there will be a BBQ, jumping castle and face-painting for the kids.
Duncan has worked at Northparkes for 18 years and is considered almost a part of the furniture.
Duncan and his family, wife Libby and kids Hamish and Ellie, are very much liked among the crew and are themselves known to be generous within the community.
The family did not want to be centre of attention but the crew really wanted a way to show their support in a difficult time.
A Crew and the Neville family would like to thank the local businesses that have supported the fundraiser and been very generous, donating items and services as prizes for the golf and the raffle as well as auction items and cash donations.
