The film crew will be in the Forbes area for three days, shooting at locations including the Forbes Historical Village, Hugh and Lyn Ellis’ property near Eugowra as well as other scenes of the Lachlan landscape.
The crew have been filming for 12 days and the project’s writer and producer Matthew Holmes said it has been a testing but rewarding process so far.
“It has been an enormous challenge because of the ambition of the film compared to its budget,” Holmes said.
“But the cast and crew are producing some great things and the footage is looking incredible.”
One of the challenges of filming in Forbes will be to find props for the set and Holmes is asking the community for help with finding pieces to decorate a small barn.
“We are hoping we can get some various props donated from people around the Forbes area for when we film a scene in the old Lachlan Historical Village,” he said.
“We just don’t have the resources to truck all these props up to Forbes from Victoria so were hoping to gather them from up there.
”We need to decorate the interior of an old barn, so we are looking for random farm items that look old and antique, and we also need a pile of hay delivered.
“We need saddles, bridles, leather gear, buckets, boxes- all kinds of things that would’ve littered an 1865 barn.”
In return for the props which will be returned after the filming, Holmes is offering a free copy of the DVD as well as a thank you in the film’s credits.
To be a part of the filming, props need to be donated over the weekend.
