PARKES: A magpie is terrorising residents in west Parkes and they don’t know what they can do about it.

FORBES: Forbes Show was once again a roaring success over the weekend with a good crowd and even better weather making it a fantastic community event.

ORANGE: There's great excitement at the Charles Sturt University Campus in Orange after the resident peregrine falcon Swift produced a third egg at 3.30am on Wednesday.

GRENFELL: The AgFarm Caragabal Sheep Races have become a much-anticipated day out for local families and groups of friends alike, and this year is no exception.  The races will run again on Saturday, September 13.

BLAYNEY: Blayney High School’s Eliza Ewin is a future lady tradie and she is starting early to develop her skills and get a taste for the industry.

CANOWINDRA: There’s a bit of timber lying about, some stubborn sauce stains and extra security on the grounds, but for the most part, it’s just another day at Canowindra High School. Canowindra High School principal Neryle Smurthwaite said everything’s back to normal after last Tuesday’s break-in.

COWRA: Cowra's businesses have stripped back to black and white, with most losing their colour to support the Magpies. To say thank you the club has decided to give a prize for the best dressed window; the business will become a sleeve sponsor on one of next year's jerseys.

PARKES: Parkes Public students and staff are thrilled that primary playground equipment has been installed  through a parent working bee. The equipment was made possible by $7000 funding from the Variety Bash, $13000 ongoing school fundraising and P and C donation. 

FORBES: If you thought Michael Browne was looking a bit scruffy, he feels the same way. He’s raising money for Down Syndrome NSW, which he and wife Heidi have been members of since the birth of their son Oscar, now nine years old.
