The Forbes player has signed up to play for the Oxford Harlequins in south east England.
It is the same club that the Platypi’s English recruit Graeme Crapper played for and Sharpe will spend six months with the Harlequins before returning for the Platypi’s football season.
This will be the first time Sharpe has been to England and he said he took up the opportunity so he could “travel” and have “new experiences”.
As well as playing for the club, Sharpe will work in the city and live in shared accommodation.
The Harlequins are known as a strong club and have just joined the National three South West division.
When asked about playing back-to-back football seasons Sharpe said he anticipates that he’ll be “very sore” but is keyed up for the trip.
“I’m definitely excited,” he said.
“It’s going to be a great experience.”
Sharpe leaves Australia on September 22.
