There were no changes at the top table with Robyn Seberry returned as President, Neil Lambert as Vice President, Gayle Williams as Secretary and Ian Gilchrist as Treasurer.
The installation was performed by VDG Tony Smith from Cowra who was making his official visit to the Club. In her annual report President Robyn outlined the Club’s activities for the previous 12 months.
Our club has seen a busy year once again. Last November the club hosted the District 201N4 Convention with over 100 people in attendance.
We continue to be busy in the community with the Club doing barbecues for the Bunnings and Spotlight openings, Carols by Candlelight, Black Dog Ride and Well Fed Day as well as our regular venues. We have also manned the gates at the Forbes Show and Calarie Charity football match. Our members assisted Forbes Rugby Club and Rugby League with their canteens over the football season.
The Ute in the Lions Park now has signage and the revamped barbecue facilities continue to be well used. Lions Christmas cakes, puddings, mints and fudge continue to be sold around town. Thankyou to the businesses who have them displayed in their stores.
Our peace poster competition for primary school students was again well supported with the winner being Krystle lee McMurray from St Laurences who went on to win at District level.
Youth of The Year was won by Yvette Quinn from Red Bend College who also went on to represent our club at district judging.
Our regular car boot sales continue to be well patronised and we have had only one cancellation due to rain this year.
On a social level our members have found time to attend Lions changeovers and Conventions as well as having a combined meeting with Cowra Club and attending a bowls day at Bribbaree.
They have participated in the Australia Day Parade, Relay For Life, Rugby Presidents Lunch, Daffodil Day and Ipomoea Christmas Tree display.
This year saw a positive gain in membership which was a great achievement.
Anyone who is interested in Lions can find out more by contacting Robyn on 68512209 or Gayle on 68511863.
The club meets at the Vandenberg Hotel on the second and fourth Tuesday at 7pm.
