Forbes Junior Cricket Association had a successful annual general meeting last week, securing a new executive and a local game for young players.

The association appealed to the community last week to step up and support the junior sport.
If they hadn’t been able to form a new executive children aged six to 14 would have had to travel to play their chosen sport.

Forbes Junior Cricket Association had a successful annual general meeting last Thursday night.
A new executive committee was formed: Tim Mackay president; John Duff vice president; Kim Sly secretary; Sally Duff treasurer; Catherine Matherson registrar and Louise Mackay publicity.
The under 17s, under 14s and under 12s will be playing in the combined Parkes competition – the same as last year with equal games at home.
The under 10s will play some games against Parkes.
Milo cricket, which was very strong last year, will be run as normal.
Registration mornings are Saturday September 20 and Saturday October 11 from 10am to midday outside Sportspower in Rankin Street.

We will need some parent volunteers to help with teams as we go along.
Chris McDean has offered to help with practice and coaching Wednesday afternoons for the older age groups at the Botanical Gardens from 4.30pm.
We are looking forward to a great year. Remember kids that play sport are happier, healthier and grow up to be better people.
