Forbes Shire Council wishes to advise the community that the road formerly known as the Bogan Gate Road has been renamed, The Bogan Way.

The name change comes after councillors passed the motion at their September meeting.
The tourist route of The Bogan Way will commence at Dowling Street (Johnson Street) intersection in Forbes, continuing through Forbes Shire, Parkes Shire, Lachlan Shire (via Tottenham) and ending in the Bogan Shire at the Mitchell Highway, Nyngan.
It is also advised that street addresses in the urban area of Johnson Street and Bogan Gate Road will remain the same.
Rural addresses commencing from Edward Street and finishing at the Parkes Shire boundary have been amended and residents advised accordingly.
The Bogan Way is an initiative of the Tottenham Development Group who believe this route has the potential of attracting tourists and benefiting towns along the way.
