Already Sydney dance icons Bag Raiders and Van She have signed up for the festival.
Familiar names to fans of all things dance and electronic based, Bag Raiders have been a key feature of the Sydney house scene for the past several years, garnering a strong reputation for energetic live performances and expertly executed remixes.
The duo is well known for incredible live performances and unmissable remixes.
Attributing Bill Murray as one of their biggest influences, the Bag Raiders have an emphasis on fun that will be sure to thrill audiences this December.
Fellow nationally renowned Sydney trio Van She have music that will keep you dancing and will ensure everyone who comes to the festival parties well into the night.
They have released a number of hits including Sex City, Strangers, Kelly, Idea of Happiness and Jamaica, which all act as a testament to their strength as songwriters and performers.
VANFEST has been made possible thanks to Grant Clifton, a Forbes local who owns and runs The Vandenberg Hotel, and his son Matt Clifton, a city dweller who owns and runs Donny’s Bar in Manly.
The first VANFEST was held in May earlier this year, taking over The Vandenberg Hotel on a spectacular evening, bringing bands and DJs to the region for the first time.
It was such a huge success that what started as a one night only event has paved the way for a massive outdoor festival.
“There’s never been anything like this in Forbes. Dad and I would never have been able to do what we’re doing if we hadn’t have partnered up with our networks from the city and the country,” Matt said.
“This is a party for the country; something that we hope will benefit everyone in the region.”
“We’ll be delivering an all Australian, extremely diverse line-up, featuring some heavy hitting acts never before seen in regional NSW and local talent as well.
“There should be a little something for everyone, and hopefully room to discover something new along the way.”
The first bands announced keep Matt true to his word.
VANFEST will bring to the Central West a phenomenal lineup ranging from indie folk through to rock and pop, with a splash of house classics thrown in for good measure.
With dozens more acts to be announced, including some big ticket items, the announcements for VANFEST are just getting ramped up.
Whether you’re a local, a cityslicker looking for a weekend away, or a fellow Central West dweller looking for a way to catch the best from the city, without having to travel the distance, VANFEST is sure to have something for you.
The all-day event - running from 2.30pm until 11.30pm - will feature all the trimmings you would expect to see on the big city stages.
With VIP tents, wet bars, meet and greets, preferred parking and more, VANFEST will support the local community and bring everyone along to raise their hands for a massive party.
First release tickets are on sale now for just $80 and can be purchased from www.vanfest.com.au.
