The smell of diesel is just around the corner with the fourth annual Motor Show to be held on Sunday, October 5.
The show will feature all types of motors including cars, bikes, vintage machinery, trucks, tractors and boats.
President of the Forbes Motor Show committee, Ian ‘Bart’ Bartholomaeus said they’ve already had a few enquiries from exhibitors planning to bring vehicles, with some people coming interstate for it.
Bart said he’s hoping for around 200 vehicles this year after getting over 150 at last year’s event.
To be held at South Circle Oval, the event will run from 10am to 2pm with gates open at 8am for registration.
There will be trophies and prizes in 33 categories including cars, bikes (with ladies categories), trucks, tractors, antique machinery, veteran, vintage and almost anything else you can think of.
If people don’t want to enter one of the categories, they can still display their vehicle and will not be charged an entry fee.
The Forbes Motor Show promises to be a great family day out during the October long weekend and will feature an impressive line-up of antique machinery, an extensive range of bikes and a model car display.
For the children there will be a jumping castle, tattoos, face painting, rides and other activities.
An exciting addition to this year’s event will be a jet boat expression session on the lake where people can watch an impressive demonstration.
There will also be a tyre-changing competition with prizes for males and females and the fire brigade will be in attendance doing a mock car rescue.
A number of trade stalls will be there on the day as well as a BBQ and all the usual food and drink stalls, including a gelato stall.
Brownie’s DJ music will be providing the entertainment.
“If mother nature provides good weather it will be a great day,” Bart said.
There’ll be plenty of prizes on offer throughout the day, including gate prizes.
Gate admission is a gold coin donation which will go to Cancer Care West.
All other money raised on the day will go to a selection of local charities.
The Forbes Motor Show committee is made up entirely of volunteers who work hard to make this event happen.
