‘Weaving Together’ is a combined exhibition of the Orange Fibre Artists Group and the Wiradjuri Arts Group Condobolin.
The exhibition was opened on Friday night at the Platypus Gallery to a good crowd.
‘Weaving Together’ will be on exhibition at the Platypus Gallery until Saturday, October 18 and is open from 10am to 4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Works in the exhibition are by fibre artists and weavers from Forbes, Orange, Lake Cargelligo and Condobolin.
The Orange Fibre Artists Group uses recycled, reclaimed, and reused materials in their baskets and sculptures as well as gathering natural fibres and grasses from their surrounding area.
The Wiradjuri Arts Group Condobolin’s works are not for sale, but the majority of other works are.
Forbes Art Society’s Klara Ward said they have received a lot of interest in the exhibition so far and are planning a workshop for early 2015.
Ms Ward will have an expression of interest sheet in the gallery for those interested in a fibre weaving workshop.
Forbes Art Society wants to remind everyone about the official launch of the Somewhere Down the Lachlan Sculpture Trail to be held at Albion Park on Wednesday, October 1.
