Forbes High School students recently competed in the Science and Engineering Super Challenge at the University of Newcastle, after making to the NSW finals of the event.

To make it this far, the 28 year 10 students and two year nine students had convincingly won the Mid-Lachlan Challenge for the second year in a row.
During the finals, the students competed in groups of three of four in a variety of challenges including earthquake towers, catapults, hover craft, doll chairs and bridge making.
They were commended on their teamwork skills and inclusiveness.
At various times during score updates they were coming fourth, second and finally fifth, with a structural crack in their bridge letting them down in the final challenge.
In all there were three heats in the finals.
Forbes High competed in the first heat and are yet to find out their overall placing.
Teachers Toni Edwards and Joe Doyle would like to commend all the students for their exemplary behaviour and sportsmanship at all times.
They should be congratulated on their placing against much larger state and private schools.
