According to police, a 17 year-old Bowral youth and his female accomplice were evicted from a caravan park in Parkes early Sunday night.
Police say the pair headed out of town and joined a group of people on a stock route on the Henry Parkes Way.
Later that evening, the male entered a property where, police say, he was confronted by the male owner. The teenager is alleged to have threatened the man, prompting other people on the property to phone police.
The property owner later informed police the teenager approached the house armed with a tomahawk and threatening harm to the three residents.
Seven police officers answered the emergency call and discovered the teenager and issued him a direction to drop the tomahawk.
According to police he refused and continued to head towards the home.
This resulted in officers drawing their firearms with further requests for the offender to stop.
Eventually he fell to his knees and dropped the tomahawk but retained what police described as a silver object in his hand.
The teenager then attempted to run from the scene and police used capsicum spray to detain him.
He was refused bail to appear in Dubbo Local Court yesterday.
Further investigations into the incident saw police arrest another 17 year old male from Welby and charge him with trespass. He was allowed bail to appear at a future sitting of Parkes Local Court.
