The Forbes men’s competition was to start last Saturday but president Andrew Glasson said the committee decided to hold back round one until October 25.
Mid-week rain, the unavailability of turf wickets and other circumstances made the decision easier, he said.
Defending premiers Forbes Inn (or Forbes High School as they started last summer) will meet Vandenberg Tigers in the grand final rematch at South Circle next Saturday.
On the adjacent Grinsted Oval, Post Office Hotel face newcomers Masterstroke Painters.
VC Reid have the first round bye.
Glasson said the Forbes XI will also make its debut next weekend, with a trip to Wellington in the first round of the SCG Plate knock-out.
