Children across the state will be the centre of attention this week as part of NSW Children’s Week.

To celebrate Children’s Week, which runs from Saturday, October 18 to Sunday, October 26, Forbes Shire Council are hosting some great events in Forbes.
A Children’s Fun Day will be held on Wednesday, October 22 at the Forbes Youth and Community Centre from 10am to 2pm.
Anyone with children not yet at school are welcome to come along on the day and participate in activities galore.
There will be a jumping castle, face painting, a free BBQ, ice cream and lucky door prizes.
Co-organiser Maree Yapp said there will be plenty of sensory activities for children such as goop, slime and playdough and even airbrush tattoos.
Lee Hodge from CentaCare will be running the playdough, Kelly and the girls from Forbes Playgroup are organising slime activities and community health will be there to weigh and measure babies.
Forbes Birth to Kinder will have their collection of recycled books which families are welcome to borrow on the day.
Book Bob will also be in attendance.
An exciting part of the day is a bus trip to a local dairy farm which leaves at 9am and will return to the Youth and Community Centre at 10.30am.
Ms Yapp said 40 people have already booked in for the bus trip which features a tour of the dairy farm and the chance to pat a potty calf.
All the activities are free on the day.
On Friday, October 24 Spectacular Screenings will be hosting a movie night at the Youth and Community Centre.
Aladdin and Oz the Great and Powerful will be the two films screened on the night, which begins at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Tickets are $2, which includes a free BBQ and lucky door prizes. There will also be the usual canteen set up for people to buy drinks and snacks.
Anyone is welcome to attend, however children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children’s Week is all about celebrating children and promoting the importance of childhood.
