The Toy Library’s Melbourne Cup Luncheon is back again and this year will be at a new location.
“We are very excited again this year to be hosting the luncheon,” Forbes Toy Library committee member Pene Glasson said.
“This year will be a new location on the deck of Forbes Sport and Recreation Club.
“We have Eat Your Greens catering, sweeps and there will be plenty of fun entertainment with great prizes.”
This year’s theme is spots and stripes and people are encouraged to bring their creativity along for the surprise activity.
Cost is $50 which includes welcome drinks on the lake, a three course meal by Eat Your Greens, entertainment, games, great prizes and lots of fun.
Last year’s event was a huge success, which Ms Glasson said is all thanks to their generous sponsors and the hardworking committee.
“We had such a fun time with the dress up as certain race days from all eras as a highlight,” she said.
“We were very lucky to be able to purchase a range of new toys from our successful day.
“These new toys will be exciting and are very much appreciated by the young ones in the Forbes community.”
This year the Toy Library committee are very excited to be donating 50 per cent of the profits to the Forbes Women’s Refuge to go towards school shoes and uniforms for the children at the refuge.
The Toy Library is a proud supporter of the Women’s Refuge and regularly donates their second hand toys to the children who often have very few possessions.
The remainder of the money raised at the Melbourne Cup Luncheon will go towards purchasing new toys for the Toy Library.
The event starts at 12pm on Tuesday, November 4. Numbers are limited, so get in quick to secure your seat.
