The day was open to anyone aged 12 and over, provided they filled out a P650 consent form and if younger than 18, were accompanied by an adult.
Range officers and club members were on hand to instruct visitors in the safe handling of firearms and range rules. Visitors were able to try their hand at bench rest rifle shooting, pistol shooting and clay target (shotgun) shooting.
Forbes SSAA has almost 200 members and is one of the strongest regional clubs in the state, growing from humble beginnings in 1992.
Forbes SSAA formed in April that year with its first official shoot held at the ‘Pine Park’ property of Trevor Smith.
