Superintendent Chris Taylor is asking them to `walk in the shoes of a police officer’ as part of the Community Awareness of Policing Program.
“While the program has been operating for the past three years in Sydney, Wednesday, November 12, will be a first for Local Area Commands including us here in Parkes,” Supt Taylor said.
Supt Taylor said the CAPP in LACs allows local community members to meet their own police, see what they do, how they do it and why they do it.
“The plan is for those taking part to be stationed here in Parkes from 10am to 3pm and observe first hand a range of police duties and processes.
“Hopefully it will instill in those taking part a greater understanding of the work we actually do here within the Lachlan LAC.”
