Having faced extremely harsh weather conditions with days of unbearable heat, the road has been anything but smooth for Kirrily as she runs a total of 860km through some of the communities most affected by domestic violence in NSW.
Currently on her way to Dubbo, Kirrily has already run through Walgett, Burren Junction, Wee Waa, Boggabri, Manilla, Tamworth, Spring Ridge, Coolah and Mendooran.
She has just a few more stops before she arrives in Forbes on Tuesday, in time for the White Ribbon Day March on White Ribbon Day.
At each stop there have been community events to welcome Kirrily with the collective focus of bringing an end to violence against women.
To continue the good work that Kirrily will be doing and to bring the stories of those affected by men’s violence against women to the greater population, Thirty 3 South Films will be producing a documentary of the run, the communities it touches and sharing the experiences of those that have been involved in programs combating the causes and effects of violence against women.
Documentary filmmaker Owen Burns has been following Kirrily on her journey to document the challenges, victories and humbling moments which will tell an inspiring and empowering story to show that by working together, men and women can make the violence stop.
Thirty 3 South Films are currently running a Pozible campaign to make the documentary possible.
They are seeking funding and support to help with the costs of production and promotion of the documentary during and after the event and ask for businesses or individuals who would like to pledge money.
Thirty 3 South Films have already made a number of powerful clips of the journey so far, which can be viewed at http://www.pozible.com/project/187923, where people can pledge to support the film.
People can also make donations to Kirrily’s White Ribbon Ultramarathon campaign in support of White Ribbon by going to her website www.whiteribbonultra.com.
They can also follow her journey on the Facebook page ‘White Ribbon Ultramarathon’.
To show your support for Kirrily, the Forbes community are encouraged to attend the White Ribbon Day march and community event at Victoria Park to welcome her.
