‘The Real WAG’s of the Central West’ is a partnership between Central West Lachlan Landcare, Macquarie 2100, Watershed Landcare and the Central West Local Land Services.
The group will be launched on December 12 at Eat Your Greens in Eugowra and local women are invited to go along to learn more about the program and register their interest to take part.
Not only will they enjoy the wonderful catering that Eat Your Greens has to offer, but participants will heard from keynote speaker Lisa Paton on what motivates her to be a climate leader for the central west.
“Women play a vital role in our agricultural industry within the central west, whether it be a hands on role on the farm or undertaking business management,” Central West Lachlan Landcare chair Margot Jolly said.
“This is a great opportunity for women to come along and learn about how Central West Lachlan Landcare and our project partners are seeking to really support them through facilitating the development of this group.”
Topics for the 2015 program will be determined by the program participants with those attending the launch event being invited to share the things they are interested in finding out more about with Central West Lachlan Landcare.
Topics being put forward in the lead up include a small engines course, financial wellbeing, writing workshops, direct marketing and succession planning.
“This workshop is a chance for local women to build a strong support network within the community and experience a range of unique learning opportunities,” Ms Jolly said.
“We are fortunate to have strong contacts with a range of inspiring women educators who will really ensure that the program delivers something for everyone.”
Places are limited and expected to fill up fast, so interested participants are encouraged to get in early.
