Year nine students Michael Wood, Bret Brown and Jake Bryant learnt all about panel beating, paintwork and polishing as part of a work education assignment.
As part of the assignment the students had to draw up a mock application for a job, with a cover letter and resume.
Bret Brown said he wanted to apply at Forbes Smash Repairs because he hopes to be in the industry one day.
“It’s been awesome, I’d love to be a mechanic,” he said.
Owner and spraypaint tradesperson Sam Leonard said this was the first time they had taken a group on but that it was a good opportunity for the students to see if what type of work they would enjoy.
“It might be their career or it might not,” she said.
“But it gives them an idea of what our work is like.”
