As well as citizen nominations, council are also inviting all community members to start thinking about entering a float for the street parade.
On January 26, the celebrations will kick off at 7am with the traditional breakfast and Rotary awards.
From 11am, residents are invited for a family swim and barbeque hosted by the Forbes Diggers.
At 5.30pm the real festivities start with a street parade, leading down to South Circle Oval where the bridge to bridge regatta will race off from 6.30pm.
There at the oval there will be the official ceremony, along with the CWA damper competition, live music, free children’s rides, face painting, food and beverage stalls and a bar.
At 9pm, for the third year in a row, fireworks will fly into the night sky, wrapping up the organised jubilations for the day.
If you would like to nominate someone for junior or senior citizen of the year, or enter a float in this year’s parade, forms can be picked up from Forbes Shire Council.
