The Lachlan Dragons fought off both the cold weather on November 14 and 15 and rival teams to come second in the men’s division and third in both the mixed and women’s events.
“[They were] great results from a club only formed in 2011,” said club member and publicity officer Phil Wells.
Club president Bill Thomas praised coach Michael Ryan for his encouragement and enthusiasm in getting the club to its competitive level and while acknowledging all the paddlers, made a special mention of sweeps Neil Stephens and Kathryn Sweeney as well as drummer Carmen Stephens for their motivation in driving the team to the line.
The Lachlan Dragons also sent a team to contest the Wagga Dragon Boat Regatta on November 30 and were confident of repeating their form from Orange.
Forbes Dragon Boat Club paddles for fun and enjoyment as well as a bit of fitness and caters for adults of all ages and fitness levels.
“Why not come along and give dragon boating a try?” Wells said.
