Thirty competitors have signed up for the tournament, including 10 local skiers, five from Dubbo and Orange and another 15 coming with the NSW Barefoot Water Ski Club.
The tournament itself will start early at 7.30am on Saturday morning, and is expected to run until early afternoon on Sunday.
The action however will begin on Friday with a coaching clinic run by the NSW Barefoot Water Ski Club.
Already the clinic is booked up with 15 skiers set to receive expert tips from world champion Ken Derry and former Australian champion Brendon Chattaway.
There will plenty for the spectators too with the Australian barefoot team set to do a stunt session including jumps and tricks from 5.30pm on Saturday.
Local skier Riall ‘the raging bull’ Harrison will also be joining the team to perform tricks that will see them clear jumps at 65km/hr and inverted in the air for up to 25 feet.
Organiser and local skier Jim Cronin said the tournament will be a great spectator sport and encouraged everyone to go down to see some world-class skiing.
“If you are a barefoot skier you’re going to enjoy it and if you’re not, it’s a pretty interesting sport to watch,” he said.
There are still spaces available for entries in the tournament and if you are interested in participating or have any questions about the event, contact Jim Cronin on 0428 483 556.
