Forbes Food Revolution Team this week received a pizza oven, compost tumbler and raised veggie bed from Bunnings, all of which will be used on the day for demonstrations and will then be drawn as raffle prizes for three lucky winners.
Forbes Food Revolution ambassador Lucy Pearce said all people need to do to be in with a chance at winning these great prizes is to turn up on the day on Saturday, May 16.
Mrs Pearce said these donations fit with the ideals of Food Revolution Day.
“It’s all part and parcel with growing your own food and cooking things from scratch and going for a healthy diet,” she said.
Mrs Pearce said the Forbes Food Revolution Team are very grateful for all of Bunnings’ support.
“A big thank you to Bunnings for being part of our day,” she said.
“This is just the start, Bunnings are also donating further such as kids activities and paints.
“They’ve been very generous.”
Bunnings supported the inaugural Food Revolution Day in Forbes last year, which Mrs Pearce said was great considering it fell on the hardware franchise’s official opening day.
“Bunnings were very generous to be involved again this year - we’re very lucky,” she said.
Bunnings Forbes manager John Ilchef said they are more than happy to support community activities such as Forbes Food Revolution Day.
“Team members from Bunnings Forbes are pleased to help with hands on projects and initiatives that benefit the wider community,” he said.
“Our team members are part of the community and we actively support a wide range of local community groups.”
