The ponies were in high demand on Sunday when over 200 people trotted in to Sahara Park Riding School for their first open day.

The school attracted people from Cowra, Parkes, Trundle, Condobolin, West Wyalong and locally who were able to view the facilities at Sahara Park.
Sahara Park Riding School’s Helen Morris said the day was a great way to make people aware of what is offered at the school.
“It was really successful...the ponies walked their legs off,” she said.
“It was a good opportunity to raise awareness about Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and show the community how good the facility is for Forbes. There’s really nothing in the regional areas of NSW like it.”
The day commenced with morning tea before an official opening was performed by mayor Phyllis Miller, RDA president Tim Mackay and patron Margaret Miller.
Following almost two hours of pony rides, there was a barbeque lunch.
Bunnings Forbes were thanked for the supply of materials and construction of a ramp to enable children in wheelchairs to mount the horses.
Sahara Park is situated 15 minutes out of Forbes on the Bedgerabong Road and caters for people of all ages and abilities - both disabled and non-disabled riders.
