To do this in a suitable manner, we need your help.
We're asking the residents of Forbes to be part of Fairfax Media's research project - 'The Faces of Anzacs' - which will pay tribute the men who laid down their lives for their country between 1914 and 1918.
We are hoping to hear from the modern-day families of the men from Forbes who did just that.
Below are the names, military records and photos of Forbes' deceased WWI heroes.
If you believe you are a descendant of a WWI hero please email your full name, relationship to the veteran and a brief comment (no more than 50 words) on their service to michael.bushell@fairfaxmedia.com.au or david.neil@fairfaxmedia.com.au by 11am, Friday, March 27.
