Both the Forbes Magpies reserve and first grade teams will take on Bathurst St Pat’s today from 2.15pm at the Bathurst Bulldogs Rugby Union grounds.
This is the second year the pre-trial match has been played in Brendon Collits’ name after the Magpies and later St Pat’s clubman was tragically killed in a car crash on June 29, 2013.
When the two sides met last year, the Magpies played with their hearts on their sleeves, knocking St Pat’s down 24-18.
President of the Forbes Magpies Rugby League Club Greg Grogan said with this score in mind, St Pat’s will be even more determined to win this year.
“St Pat’s are very strong, they’ll be hard to beat,” Grogan said.
“I think they’ll be very keen to win the trophy this year because of our win last year.”
This will be the Magpies’ fourth pre-trial match and the last before the season officially starts on April 11.
In their first official match, the Magpies will have a home game against Dubbo Westside.
