Forbes Shire Council is hosting this unique event where Co-Opera will present its production of Mozart’s comic opera, which is sung in English and centres around a hilarious game where love, trust and pride are at stake.
The cynical and wealthy philosopher Don Alfonso, declares to his young friends, Guglielmo and Ferrando, that no woman can be trusted, including their respective fiancées, Dorabella and Fiordiligi.
Enraged at this slur the two officers wager that their fiancées will remain faithful even if tested. The men agree to follow Don Alfonso’s plan to test the women’s fidelity and so begins the outrageously funny and moving tale.
Commencing at 7pm, with audiences asked to arrive at 6.30pm, Opera in the Park promises to be a great night out for people of all ages, first-timers and die-hard opera fans.
In the case of inclement weather, the production will be staged at the Town Hall.
Tickets are $50 for adults and $30 for children under 15 years.
The event is BYO picnic and beverages as well as seating.
Tickets are available from stks.be/opera-in-the-park-cosi-fan-tutte, Forbes Shire Council and the Forbes Railway Arts and Visitor Information Centre.
