Dianne Decker was so impressed with the community spirit of a local primary school student that she has decided to do the same thing and lose her locks for charity.

Forbes Public School captain Eliza Prince recently took part in a Leukaemia Foundation fundraiser, the World’s Greatest Shave, collecting almost $1000 in the process.
The community-minded action has inspired Mrs Decker to conduct her own fundraiser next Wednesday (April 29).
“It’s not very often a young person like her is so community-aware,” Mrs Decker said of Eliza.
“She really was my inspiration to do this. I think it’s very commendable she did that, being so young but thinking of her community.”
Mrs Decker is currently a patient at Forbes Hospital, where she is recuperating after several major surgeries.
She will direct any funds raised to the provision of mental health training for Lachlan Health Service staff and to the annual Special Sports Day, an event she founded more than 30 years ago.
Mrs Decker recently invited Prince Harry to attend the May 6 Sports Day but sadly he replied, on an official Royal letterhead, declining the offer due to his secondment with the Australian Army.
However, before the sports day for people with disabilities, she will have her head shaved at 2pm next Wednesday at Forbes Hospital’s Lumeah House.
Michelle Stuckey from Forbes business Bonny Hair Studio has offered her hairdressing services to the fundraiser and any donations prior to the day will be accepted at Neville Allen’s Barbershop. Mrs Decker’s former OCTEC colleague Ray Dunstan will take donations on the day.
Mrs Decker said she was not put off by this week’s cold weather, as a fellow hospital patient has offered to knit her a beanie to keep her head warm.
