Following concerns about insufficient parking in Elgin Street, Forbes Shire Council will begin converting Nurse Stokes Park into operational land within the next two weeks.
The plan is for 34 additional parks to be made available, but the carpark will only be built if there is a contribution from NSW Health.
A spokesperson from the Forbes Medical Centre said parking has been an issue for the practice’s patients for some time.
“There is just not enough parking for patients and staff,” the spokesperson said.
“It has been a very constant complaint that it is difficult to find parking.”
Play equipment on Nurse Stokes Park will be relocated and it has been proposed to have it installed on hospital grounds, however the exact location is yet to be determined.
